The 2012 Olympics came to a close last week, and we added the final touches to our Olympic lapbook.
The first folder was on the history of the Ancient Olympics. The second folder was on the XXX Olympiad help this year in London.
The third folder was a results section were the girls kept a tally the United States medals. Dad found a great ipad app that tracked the results everyday in a very simplistic format. While he was finding the app for us, he also found a London Olympic game. It was quite funny to watch Dad and Tyler compete on the iphone game. I think they were all free, and the boys seemed to have fun playing the silly game!
We started a new continent box last week. We are looking at the continent of Asia right now.
We read this sweet book, The Littlest Matryoshka, about Russian nesting dolls. They each made a paper nesting doll set.
We are having fun with our Bible curriculum. We are creating a stick-figure entry to our timeline each week.
Lyndsey was so excited to get her first timed math fact test. She has memorized all the doubles facts this week. 100% on 25 facts in about 1.5 minutes. Not bad for a 5 year old! She also got to read her first reader this week. She flew threw it in no time, and was ready for reader #2.
We are still having fun and learning a lot in homeschool. We are getting everything done before lunch most days even with the constant assistance of sweet Colleen! Afternoons have been ours to enjoy and run older kids around EVERYWHERE!
