Memorial Day @ the Lake

We went out to the lake this weekend. This was our stay-cation (or as close to one as JM will settle for)!!! Our lake side view is improving each year. I need to snap a picture looking down because JM had a boat house built a few months ago. It looks really nice and now we can keep our boat at the house and not have to go to the marina each time. I also need to take some pics of the work I have been doing on the inside over the last month. I have been PAINTING. I will post pics of the "new" rooms the next time we go out to the lake.
JM and the kids enjoyed quite a bit of fishing. They were successful this time so it kept their interest. I think everyone caught a fish. Of course, the girls caught the first fish on their rinky-dink pink rods which upset Tyler to no end!!

Oh! Tyler reached a milestone this weekend! He touched a fish! Granted he was completely gloved!!!
There was plenty of time for a few kayak rides since the boat battery was dead the first day.
JM and the kids went into town for a movie and came home with a boat battery. Now it was time to have some real fun on the lake!!
Look out Lake Jordan..."trouble" is out on the lake!

Play a song for me!!!

This afternoon the kids had their annual award ceremony/recital. They each played two songs and recieved a trophy for participating in the National Guild a few months ago.
I think Tyler found a reason to keep playing. Next year will be his 5th year to participate in the Guild, and you get a special award for that!!!! Whatever it takes :)

Dance Recital 2010

This was Lyndsey's first dance recital. She was soooooo excited to dance on the stage like the big girls and wear her blue costume. It has been hard to keep her costume off of her since we brought it home. Lyndsey stays in "dress up" (aka the older sisters' old costumes) 95% of the time we are at home. Many days she never puts on real clothes!
Jump out, jump in!
Take a bow!
Oh, look at that hair bun in the back of her head!!! I found this AWESOME device for $4 that makes putting the girls' hair in buns a piece of cake. Everyone told me it would not work on Lyndsey. Her hair is too fine and too thin and too short. BUT it worked on Lyndsey's hair. She had a gorgeous ballet bun!
Lauren performed a tap and ballet number also. She did a great job, and it showed that she was a leader in her class.

Corynne and her dance friends Peyton and Kylie performed Walking the Dinosaur for the last time. I think we have seen this one so many times that even Lauren and Lyndsey know the steps!
They also performed a tap and ballet number tonight!
Yes, they have Dad trained well. He always remembers the flowers. (Lauren makes sure!!!!)

The Best Class of Girls

Today Corynne hosted a lunch and swim party for the 4th Grade Girls. I just love this group of girls. There are 13 girls in their 4th grade class, and they all get along so well together. They are just the sweetest, most well behaved group of girls. I simply love them all, and I love to have them over.
Just creating memories!!!!

my girls

This is a dress I wore when I was young. My mom has pictures of me posed just like this. I have taken the girls pics in it at age 3+. Maybe I can get my pic scanned in soon!

Fashion Show

Corynne's sewing teacher had a fashion show for the girls to show off their creations. Corynne did not have that many pieces since she just started, but she had a great time none the less! Corynne modeled her layered skirt, tote bag, bath robe, and a zippered pillow!
Mrs. Ester does a great job with the girls. She definitely has fostered a love of sewing into the girls.
