City Championships

Today was the City Swimming Championships for my 2 swimmers.  I am so proud of them!  They worked hard all summer, and they swam like champions today!

Lauren ended up 9th or 10th in her division.  She was so close to medaling (1st-8th place).  She was very disappointed, but she still has another year in this age division so she is ready to join Barracudas to keep swimming during the school year.

Lyndsey is our little DINOMITE!!!  She goes fast and strong and thinks later!  Yes, thinks about the correct stroke to swim after she has already started swimming 1/4 of the pool with the wrong stroke!!!  Her coach reviewed the correct stroke with her minutes before the horn blew to dive in!  She was so upset with herself..."I just forgot, Mom!"

She had a collision with a corner that juts out in Lane 8 while she was competing in back stroke.  That big head bang cost her 1st place in her heat.  The little fish still came in 4th!

After the injury, she came back with a heat win in breast stroke.  She finished the meet in 8th place.  A bad day for her and her ADD personality!  She is also excited about Barracudas this fall.  Both coaches have asked her to be on the team.  I think the see something in her if they can figure out how to keep her focused for 1 minute!!!!
