Super Space Saturday

My kids would say one of the disadvantages of homeschooling is sometimes we school on Saturday!  Forget the fact that we took Friday off!  Mom declared it Super Space Saturday this afternoon, and we worked on a bunch of space projects!

Project #1 (This was actually build during the week.)  A working telescope from a Space Exploration kit that I found online.
Project #2 We started making the space theme items using Hama beads (just like Perler beads).  The girls will complete a bead model of each of the planets as we study them individually!
Project #3 was also completed during the week.  This was our edible model of the parts of the Earth.  Inner Core, Outer Core, Crust, and Mantle
Project #4 was completed as we studied the Moon Phases over the past week.
Project #5 Of course we had to do the edible Moon Phases with Oreos!!!
Project #6 - Now these are actually the projects we completed during Super Space Saturday!  We started with these supplies to make our Mars Rover.
It turned out pretty cool.  It only worked for a few minutes, and I gave up trying to get it to work again.  I think the box was to heavy.  Next time we try this project, i will find the lightest weight box possible!
Project # 7 Next, the girls assembled a Constellation Projector.  They loved taking it to the closet and inviting people in to look at the Constellations!
All-in-all, Super Space Saturday was a success.  They were not to upset about doing school work!!
