Tyler tried out for the Varsity Tennis team at the beginning of March. It was a bold move for a 7th grader, but he had decided about a year ago that this was his goal. He has been practicing and drilling to better himself all year. Tryouts this year was his "MOMENT", and he sailed threw them with no problem! He beat everyone who was trying out for the varsity team. Unfortunately, the team had 6 returning players, so Tyler was the 7th seat on the team. That meant that he did not see a lot of court time at the matches, but he was a good "go getter" for the team!!! We as parents felt very fortunate for Tyler to be around such a great team of boys. The older boys (10th-12th graders) were very nice to Tyler, and they always included the youngest in the after match dinners, etc. That was big since he was the only one that did not drive or have a brother who drove on the team!!!! The team nicknamed Tyler "Rhino". I think it really fit his personality...tough, driven, comes at you with full force!!!!
He even made the paper a few times after assisting his team in a victory!
