Memorial Day Fun

If you know me at all, you know that I love to play with food!  Pinterest  feeds my addiction with new ideas all the time!
The girls had fun making these strawberries!  And boy were they good!!!!

Colleen helped the girls make festive cupcakes for the party we were invited to tomorrow.  I also got to make a yummy salad and cake from my collection of Pinterest recipes.   I love it when I have a place to take all the food a make!
Happy Memorial Day!!!

All-American Girls!!
We headed to the Rhodes farm for an afternoon of food and fun on their farm/old quary lake!

Thank you Rhodes family for a day of fun!!!!

Lemonade For Sale

If I had a penny for every time these 2 girls asked to have a Lemonade Stand, I would be rich!  So today became the day to have their FIRST EVER LEMONADE STAND!!!!!!
They first made the lemonade and let it chill while they made their sign.
After lunch when it was good and hot, Dad loaded up the golf cart to take them down to the corner.  Notice that we had to make a substitution mid-day because Lauren got a phone call to go over to a friends house, and she quickly DUMPED us!
Big sister Corynne said she would go sit down at the corner with Lyndsey!  I think Dad may have bribed her with a little pocket change!

She made a few sells, and she had a great time.  Maybe this is out of her system for a while!!!!

Right of Passage

Of all three "graduations" that we have had this month.  This is the one that brought tears to my eyes.  I can not believe that my sweet, baby Corynne is heading into Upper School (or I call it Junior High to make me feel better).  When I look at her, I day dream about these simple days...
I remember precious moments in time like Kindergarten graduation!
Precious moments that seem like yesterday, yet today she is dressed in a white dress again for another milestone.  Yes, I am tearing up again as I type this post.  She has grown up so fast!  She is so mature, a huge helper to me, and a blessing to all around her.

She has the BEST friends that a girl could ever ask for.  They share everything and support each other without fail 100% of the time.
Corynne had a beautiful year in 6th grade.  A year that she can take full credit for herself.  The year mom let go of the homework folder and told her she can handle this on her own!  And she did with flying colors.  Corynne was awarded the Dependability award from her teachers this year.  Yes, I would agree!  I can depend on her to take care of anything that I help with and sometimes she reminds me of things that I am about to forget!!!

Friends Forever!
The girls came over on Friday for a little post-6th grade party!  We had fun in the pool and just hanging out all morning!

While Papa and Grammy were here, we took them to an amazing dance recital featuring 3 beautiful and talented dancers!
This year has been a year of changes.  Corynne moved up a level and became the youngest in her group.  It was very frustrating to the dancer who had always been the STAR of her group.  She had to work harder to learn skills that she was behind in.  It was a long first month of tears and heart ache before she felt like she was truly a part of her dance group.  She worked hard, and we saw the results again tonight.  You were a beautiful shining star on stage tonight!
Lauren moved into Corynne's old dance team.  She fit right end and enjoyed getting to compete with the older girls in her group! Lauren sparkled tonight!
Lyndsey was very excited to be back at Corynne and Lauren's dance studio this year.  She did a great job, and she was a leader for her class.  Lyndsey shines were she is planted!
My beautiful dancers kept me busy backstage with costume changes, hair changes, and make-up touchups all night, but I would not trade this moment with my girls for anything!

And he played one last song for me!

Tyler played in his last piano recital today.  I wish it were no so, but he does not want to continue, and our agreement for the last few years was "until you start high school"!  He plays so well to just quit, so I hope he will pick up a few more lessons later so he does not forget.
Papa and Grammy made it to Alabama just in time for Tyler's recital.  We are excited to have them here for all our fun end of school events this week!

Family Graduation Night

Because I like to turn everything into a party, a simple burgers by the pool night became Family Graduation Night tonight!
I

We have 3 graduates this year!  Tyler is moving into high school. Corynne is moving into middle school, and Lyndsey is officially a pre-school graduate!  I think all that hard work deserves a cookie cake and balloons!

Maybe a little welcome to summer gift is in order also!

We also had mini chocolate graduation hats.  Well, Colleen ate most of them!!!

Patience Please

The school that the girls go to is a Classical Christian school.  Each year the teachers award the students with a character trait that best describes them for that year.  This year Mrs. Baldwin recognized Lauren for her Patience in the classroom.
Patience is the ability to accept and remain calm in difficult situations.  "Strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy." Colossians 1:11
I am glad she shows patience with her teacher and her friends, and I can not wait for her to demonstrate it at home!!!
Lauen had a great year with this class of girls!!!
Lauren also received a gold metal for completing her Olympic Reading requirements for the year!
