Look who is almost 40!

Happy 39th Birthday, John Mark!
Tyler decided to quickly put the pie in his face!  WOW, that boy!
We spent the weekend out at the lake.  The water was a bit chilly, but it did not hamper the fun!  The kids enjoyed the big innertube and a little bit of swimming between rain storms.  It is always just relaxing and peaceful (well the nature part of it, not our family) at the lake!

Sometimes Lyndsey just pulls a shocker on all of us!  This was one of her sweet, tender moments loving on her baby sister!

Tennis around the state!

It seems that I am always playing catchup with this picture-blog!  Life moves to fast to stay caught up on anything!  We have enjoyed a wonderful weekend of tennis across the state of Alabama.  Lyndsey and I took Tyler to a tournament in Huntsville this weekend.  Granddad and Noni met us there to watch Tyler play one match.  John Mark stayed home with Colleen and took Corynne and Lauren to a smaller tournament at a local country club.  It was a good experience for everyone even though there were very few wins this weekend!!!

A Berry Sweet Birthday

 Happy Birthday Sweet Princess!
Today we had a few friends over to celebrate Colleen's 2nd Birthday!  It is hard to believe she is 2--time flies by so fast!  She is the cutest, sassiest, lovingest little girl!  She loves to dance and spin, watch Dora, eat-eat, tackle Bubba, yell Mama, and get into any of the Sissas' stuff!

Now doesn't she just look like she is cooking up some trouble!!!!

A traditional Seder Meal

I am quite sure that I have said this before (probably about 3 years ago), but I love the school that the girls' attend!  I have learned so much over the years!  One of my favorite learning experiences for them is in 3rd grade when they participate in a traditional Seder Meal led by the headmaster, Mr. Geiger.  I love how everything to centered around Christ, the bitterness of our sin, and His sacrifice for us.  I was a wonderful morning and I am so happy that I got to help with this learning experience!

Corynne's Report

Today I filled in for JohnMark at the 6th grade science lab.  It was my biggest fear.  As I mentioned before, I signed up to help with the easy stuff--crafts, baking, etc.  I was freaked out by having to help 30 kids find things under a microscope.   But it was a good experience that I enjoyed.  Their science teacher has a way of making things fun to learn.

For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuses. Romans 1:20
They also did a cool experiment about passing germs.  They each took a cup of water to a "party".  As the kids "shook hands" they mixed their two cups of water together and went to meet the next person.  One person had a "virus" cup (vinegar), and by the end of the short party everyone was infected.
Happy Pie (3.14) Day!  Yes, the 6th grade got to bring pies to school today!  What fun!
Corynne went to the eye doctor this week.  She will be sporting these glasses by next week.

Tyler's News

Tyler turned 14 a few days ago.  He celebrated his birthday about 3 weeks ago by inviting 6 boys over for a sleepover and fun.

The boys had a great time, and the highlight of the late evening was Dad taking them to roll a girls house.  WOW!  I can't believe JM let them do that!  On Tyler's actual birthday, we had a little family dinner and cake at home before Tyler and JM went to the Auburn vs. Alabama baseball game.
The reason we had his celebration early is because March-April is TENNIS SEASON!  Tyler made the TPS Varsity tennis team again this year.  He will be playing the #4 seat on the team.  He was so excited to play up to the #4 spot!  We have had two weeks of school team tennis now.  He lost his first singles match against Bayside, won his singles and doubles matches again St. Paul, won singles and lost doubles against LAMP, and won both singles and doubles matches again McGill-Toolen.  He is off to a great start!  We have really enjoyed watching him play.  Tyler is a strong player with a determination to WIN!!!

Tyler was inducted into the National Jr. Honor Society today.  To qualify for this honor, he had to maintain a 94 cumulative average for each quarter 7th grade through mid-year 8th grade.  Way to go Tyler!
