Dad's busy Saturday!

The girls went to there first swim meet this morning. They were so excited to compete after practicing so hard the last 2 weeks. They each swam a couple of individual events and a team relay event.
We are NEW to this swim team stuff, so here is how the morning goes. First, the swim coach writes your races and lane assignments on your arm!
Then you take your warm up laps in the pool. Then you wait for your turn to race!
The girls did a great job. These are Corynne's ribbons for today.
These are Lauren's ribbons.
Dad took everyone out to eat pizza and then it was home for a nap!

THEN it was BISCUIT TIME!!! The Montgomery Biscuits Baseball team that is! Although, I am not sure if the girls know that there is a baseball game going on while they....
PLAY
and PLAY some more
and roll down the hill
Oh, yeah. They do stop for a minute to sing. Watch out Obama, even 3 years olds know which way to hold their hand during the pledge!
THANK YOU DAD FOR A GREAT DAY!

Dothan Tennis Tournament

While JM kept the girls in Montgomery this weekend, I took Tyler to a tennis tourney in Dothan.
They held a fastest served competition during the lunch break on Saturday. Tyler won 1st place for Boys 12s.
For the first time in his tennis career, he was seeded 1st in a tournament. BUT he lost 2 fairly close matches and we returned to Montgomery late Saturday night.

Dad's Weekend with the Girls

JM stayed in Montgomery with the girls this weekend. Usually he would take Tyler to the tennis tourney but "we" were signed up to work the girls' swim meet. I had signed up for this meet because I knew JM was off to help me with the kids. When Tyler decided to enter the Dothan tournament, we decided it would be easier for me to take Tyler and Colleen to the tennis tournament. It is a little easier to feed a baby during a tennis match than while timing races at a swim meet!
In typical Daddy form, there was no sitting at home! He picked up the older girls from their morning/early afternoon activities, and it was straight to the bowling alley!

Then JM decided to try a new-to-us mexican restaurant. When they drove into the parking lot, the girls announced "Hey, Dad that is the nail shop. We want to go get our nails done."
Let's just say they have Daddy wrapped around there little fingers!!

Seamstress in Training

Lauren has been wanting to learn how to sew (a.k.a. take sewing lessons) for months now. I think she is a little jealous of Corynne's ability! Anyway, I decided to let her go to a week long sewing camp this week with Corynne's teacher. Lauren had so much fun!! She made a pillowcase, a purse/tote, and a stuffed animal.
Lauren took her camp very seriously! Every night she would set up the sewing machine to practice. She worked on her straight stitch, pivots and curves. She devoted one night to "hand sewing" and buttons. Corynne got out here sewing machine and made another pillowcase while Lauren practiced.

A what?

Tyler: Mom, I have seen a dead "amarillo", squirrel and skunk on the side of the road already today.
Me: You have seen a what?
Ty: An "amarillo", squirrel and a skunk.
Me (laughing): You mean an armadillo.
Ty: Oh, yeah an armadillo. I guess I got confused.
Me (still laughing): Yeah, I guess you did!

Jasmine Update

I went by the house to snap a few pics of the changes going on over there.
First of all, we have finally completed the wall. Well, kinda. We still have to add ends to connect the wall to a neighbors wall. The landscaper was able to get the trees planted along the wall. They are huge and beautiful hollies.
Our last addition was added. It is the carport. This is the front view.
And the view from the back...
Doors are being hung...
Trim work is being added...
The back view of our house...
The wood for the floors has been delivered. I hear that the painter is going to paint the outside of the house this week. The cabinet man is really to deliver the cabinets as soon as the floors are down and the doors are up. Things are looks positive...if we could just sell our current house :(

Swim lessons

The girls took swim lessons again this year from Mrs. Karen. She is GREAT! Lyndsey is actually taking 2 weeks from Mrs. Karen because I am determined that she learn to swim GOOD with a pool in our backyard! After 1 week she is doing great. She jumps...
She swims...
Ah..Oh..were are my googles? Mrs. Karen is yelling to Lyndsey, "keep swimming. Your goggles are on your eyes!"
A confident and proud 3 year old makes her way back to the diving board!
Diving for rings...
Corynne and Lauren are actually on the Gator swim team at Wynlakes. They go to swim practice avery morning at 9 am. It is a great morning workout and they love it! In the afternoon, Mrs. Karen worked with them on diving and strokes to help them improve.
They have their first swim meet next weekend, and they are so excited!
